This month's Animal Feedings: Amphibians features the Nature Center's resident New Mexico Spadefoot eating mealworms. The New Mexico Spadefoot is the State Amphibian of New Mexico. These cute little toads are easily identifiable by their large eyeballs and shovel-like spurs, known as "spades", on their back feet. They use those spades to dig burrows into the ground where they live up to nine months of the year, coming up when it rains to breed and feed. #LCMuseums #LCMONAS #AnimalFeeding

Yazzie-Martin uses digital photography and incorporates embroidery to document some of the pain that happens when you come out of the closet but are still unable to show yourself fully to society.
