Did you know Juliette Gordon Low, founder of the Girl Scouts of the USA was born on Halloween, October 31, 1860. She was born in Savannah, Georgia and named after her grandmother, Juliette Augusta Magill Kinzie. All of Juliette's family and freinds called her "Daisy". She was the second of six children born to William and Eleanor Kinzie. #halloween #history

On the south side of the house in the dry moat looking towards the courtyard notice the old lead pipe, this is a relic of the original plumbing system. The plumbing system included a complex system of concealed gutters, which led to a large cistern buried in the courtyard. A pump transferred water to the cistern in the attic, which led to a bathing room, a sink in the Butler’s Pantry, and to the kitchen in the basement. #museumsunshine

In 1844, Andrew Low II married Sarah Cecil Hunter, daughter of Alexander and Harriet Bellinger Hunter. On October 22nd in 1848, Harriet Hattie Anne Low, the couple’s third child was born. Hattie is on the right side in the first photograph with her father and older sister, Amy. In the second photograph Hattie is with her two younger half-sisters, Jessie and Katie Low. #onthisdayinhistory
