Baltimore Society of Model Engineers 06.11.2020

It is with heavy heart I write to inform you of the passing of a fellow club member and friend, Keith Wood. Keith lost his battle with liver cancer this past week, he and his brother Kevin have been club members for 35 years they had helped the club operate at open house shows, and the Timonium Great Scale Model train show club sales tables. Keith was a board member and club secretary for several years. Always willing to help a fellow model railroader, he will be truly missed.... Unfortunately as with most train buffs, I don't have any recent pictures of Keith as I concentrate on taking pictures of the trains, but I borrowed this picture from the gofundme page that was initially setup to help cover Keith's medical expenses. If you wish to donate the gofundme page is at: https://www.gofundme.com/f/mpcvhz-the-twins, funeral services will be Wednesday at Chatam-Harris Funeral home: https://www.chatmanharrisfh.com/obituaries/Keith-Wood-2/

We finally got our 501(c)(3) letter from the IRS, and will be sending out donation receipts to all of those who donated last year to our relocation campaign. Unfortunately the IRS website is not up to date with our status, hopefully it will be soon. For your tax records our EIN is: 52-6044366, the organization name is Baltimore Society of Model Engineers, Inc. If you search you will find that we had a 501(c)(7) status that was auto revoked in May of 2010.

Baltimore Society of Model Engineers 14.06.2020

On this Thanksgiving, we want to share our genuine appreciation for all of the support you have given us over this past year. With no doubt, it has been one of the hardest and busiest years in the 87 year history of the Baltimore Society of Model Engineers and without this support,it's hard to know if we would have survived it all as an organization. Better than just surviving, with your support and the dedication of our hard working members, the BSME is thriving. We are exc...ited to share we are opening our doors for the Holiday season once again beginning Sunday, December 1st in a new, temporary location on the retail level of One Charles Center at Charles and Fayette in Downtown Baltimore. This pop-up show will feature a brand new HO Scale layout that we have built over the past two months, our interactive Timesaver modules and an On30 loop as well as special visits by Santa himself and a variety of food vendors over the next month and a half. We are calling the show Wonderland Express: Railroads in Miniature and it is presented by One Charles Center, the Center Plaza Foundation, and the Baltimore Society of Model Engineers. We will be open Saturdays from 11-5pm and Sundays from 1-5pm beginning Dec 1st through January 12th. Our heartfelt thanks goes out to you for helping make this all possible!
