Thanks for the shout-out #Repost @artreelsproduction EATON CENTER. "Christopher Woodcock was born in San Francisco in 1975 and received his BFA in photography from the San Francisco Art Institute in 2002. Much of his work centers on the complex geometrical patterns of city structures and building frames, and the construction of an image, which the artist has described as a site-specific intervention captured on film. His photographs have been exhibited internationally..., including in Canada, Israel, and Russia." per @benrubigallery . BENRUBI GALLERY 521 W 26th Street, Floor 2, NY . Jacqueline Hassink decided to photograph landscapes worldwide where there is neither cell phone reception nor an Internet connection. These are places far away from urban centers, and they do not appear on the global economic radar. Most of them are located on islands, like the primeval moss-covered forest of Yakushima untouched by human intervention; the uninhabitable volcanic desert of Iceland with its vast landscapes in white, green, and black; and Svalbard, a group of desolate Norwegian islands close to the Arctic Circle. Nine days left to catch Jacqueline Hassink's "Unwired" at Benrubi Gallery.
We love it when our favorite people come to check out our exhibitions. Unwired is on view through August 17. #Repost @ameyerowitzadvisory #JacquelineHassink has traveled the globe in search of places that have no cell phone reception nor WiFi such as in Yakushima and Svalbard (pictured here). Seems stressful and blissful simultaneously! @benrubi_gallery thru 8/17. #contemporaryphotography #colorphotography #landscapephotography #benrubigallery #summershow @jacquelinehassink #chelseagalleries
On February 2018, Lens on Life Project led its second trip to the Zaatari refugee camp, which is located on the Jordan-Syria border. Zaatari is one of the world's largest refugee camps, housing more than 80,000 people displaced by the Syrian civil war. They partnered with Questscope, a Jordanian organization that has implemented successful mentoring, education, and emergency aid initiatives for thousands of disadvantaged youth. Together, they taught photography to those kids who ended up capturing life in Zaatari camp, highlighting their own experiences to share with a global audience. We're very excited to be hosting their silent auction tonight from 6-9pm. This event is sponsored by The Catalyst Foundation for Universal Education.
