Even when it's rainy outside, we always strive to create a sunny atmosphere in Marsh Mill...(and chocolate invariably helps!)
Come and visit us for the last weekend opening of this season (how fast has this year gone!) But don't be too upset if you miss us, as we will open specially for the Christmas Market and Switch on event in Marsh Mill village square on Sunday 26th November! (and weather permitting, the sails will be turning - horray!)...
As you would already have noticed or even guessed, unfortunately and quite understandably, the notorious Storm Brian put a stop to our sails turning over our Birthday weekend. However, those of you who were indeed brave enough to battle the high winds and made it to Marsh Mill specially, weren't disappointed with our usual warm welcome and charm! (not to mention our fancy costumes, which still seem to be appreciated!) Thank you as always to all our visitors, familiar faces and new faces and to all participants and volunteers. And a special thank you to Royles Brook Primary School for the specially commissioned artwork on display - it is lovely. Sadly, didn't get chance to take many photos, so here's just a few
Join us this weekend to help us celebrate Marsh Mill's Birthday - a mere 223 years young!
The last exhibition of this season at Marsh Mill in The Kiln House Gallery - just started - every weekend until the end of the season (5th Nov).
Next scheduled turning of the sails will (hopefully) be: Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd October (for the Mill's 223rd Birthday). However, we are still waiting for confirmation of this, so watch out for an update.
It's the last weekend to catch Neil Pilling's photography display in the gallery - come and support his first ever exhibition by popping in to see his lovely images and leaving him a comment in the book.

Ok, so we experienced a bit of a 'blip' mid-afternoon with the sails on our Heritage Saturday - which had started out so confidently and had a lovely buzz with a continous stream of visitors, local and from further afield who had come specially. We already have engineers working on it and they hope to resolve the issue as promptly as possible (maybe even, fingers crossed, as quickly as today...) However, eitherway, even if the prognosis is that the sails need a bit of a rest today, we are still open and eager and enthusiastic to show you our wonderful mill - so do pop in.
Oops - for some reason we haven't been included in the official Heritage brochure for this year, so this is just a quick reminder...(not forgetting - come and see us dressed as 'Millers' too!)
So pleased to hear that the Marsh Mill Christmas Lights Switch On has just been confirmed for 26 November Marsh Mill Windmill Volunteers La Shack Wyre Council
