Our Mg42 ammo belt with inert 7.92mm Mauser rounds came in to add some spice to our MG display for the museum. Looking at these rounds side by side look very similar ballistic wise to the .3-06 rounds used in the BAR and garand rifle. We acquired two amazing ww2 weapons that opposed each other on the battlefield for our museum. @guns.gold reached out to us knowing we were on the hunt for museum pieces that would attract enthusiasts of WW2 and firearms. Carrying these around the house and posing with these weapons makes us respect our greatest generation 10 times more. The M1918 BAR weighs 22 pounds with no ammo, having to slug it around Europe and the Pacific is really incredible, @rae519 could only hold ...up the BAR for 3 seconds. Looking at pictures with Wehrmacht soldiers carrying the MG42 over their shoulder and walking miles just boggles my mind, that thing is a beast.
