This morning, the Wiregrass Museum of Art announced a new partnership with Dothan City Schools to offer a free, virtual museum tours program for all DCS teachers, students and families, as well as an online professional development course for teachers in DCS's A+ Arts schools. The leaves of the canopy folded. Rain created dark patches on my light shirt. Will I past? Did I future? To this add, ‘Burn all the books that call you the unknown’, a proclamation proposed by artist Vidisha Fadescha. The show stages a portrait of the man screaming, protesting, yawning, doing facial exercises for the next act or perhaps saying sorry. Drawn obsessively and repetitively by Anish Cherian on the museum walls for several days. The exhibition is stuck upon this image of a man saying sorry. In this age of outrage, when the colour of fear and politics of survival are triggered and hysteria is tailored, the young man is murmuring. ‘Where do we meet?’ When shame, silence, fear, courage, all belong to the one who takes the onus of the question, what shall be the convergence? The all-engulfing hurt, fanned sentimentalism and paranoia that paralyses reason, and all this, a site - how to take over this sight. ‘Right to Laziness...no, strike that!
