We had another bright, frosty start to the day here at Winterbourne and doesn't the Walled Garden look great bathed in early morning light ?
Chillis come in all sorts of sizes, colours and heat. Grown onsite, here is our epic haul of harvested chillis from all around the globe!
Yesterday we had the most beautiful sunrise over the Walled Garden and just had to share!

Gardener Jude has been getting us all into the festive spirit by decorating the front of house. These Christmas trees have been decorated with chillis and foliage from the garden and we have think they look splendid - excellent work Jude!
We took a trip down to the woodlands and found the ground to be completely covered by a leafy carpet!
The garden team and our trusty volunteers have been planting up pots and pots of spring bulbs to add a splash of colour next year. We've been dusting our crocus bulbs with chilli powder in an effort to stop the mice nibbling them over winter!
It's that time of year again when our garden team have constantly got barrows full of vibrant fallen leaves!
Head of Winterbourne @lee_hale17 has been getting back to his gardener roots by reshaping the stream lawn border!
Last week Cacti Volunteers Arthur and Gill cut back the Euphorbia ingens as it had reached the roof of the Arid House! The pruned off sections will be rooted and sold in our Gift Shop soon
We took a wander down to the stream this morning and were joined by some very noisy birds! What birds can you hear?

The Winged Spindle in the garden is at its best this time of year. These pictures don't quite show how vibrant the colour is so you'll have to come down and see it for yourself!

Our RHS practical students have been applying their new skills in the garden this week, helping apply nematodes to our lawns. We do this to reduce the population of chafer grubs that live underneath the turf. The badgers find these chafer grubs irresistible and ruin our lawns in the quest for them!
